Day 4 Balinese version of toblerone and the unwanted broken tooth!!

After a very poor nights sleep due to the known presence of our friend Lizzy the Lizard, we woke again to the familiar sounds we were beginning to think of as home.  Another day with little on the agenda other than to relax and enjoy the surroundings before our move to Ubud.

All should have gone well until I (Helen) gave in to the chocolate calling me from the fridge at 4pm. It should have been so easy: sun lounger, shade, afternoon snack..... until I felt the crack. A broken tooth! So the chocolate had nuts in (most of you know I don't choose nuts but as this was the only choice....) and it kindly helped itself to claiming my tooth. After much Internet enquiries and a phone call back home to my most unhelpful dental receptionist (not usually so I must add but maybe she had Monday morning blues), I came to the conclusion that I'd have to eat on the other side, keep it clean, avoid anything too hard and pray and hope that pain doesn't follow! Otherwise- a trip to a dentist over here may end up being another experience we can write about.

As tonight was the last night at the Damai we decided to eat from the a la carte menu rather than the set Balinese menu although we were tempted as it was another interesting choice tonight.  For starters Helen went for grilled Balinese vegetables and I had tuna takita.
For the main course we both went for the Damai version of bouillabaisse, which was served with fresh bread and two types of aioli.
To think we had only seen the crayfish in the tank this morning as we had breakfast.  It was the first time both of us has tried oysters and we both agreed cooked oysters taste very similar to fresh mussels.

For dessert Helen went for Guava, which was a clear guava soup, with chocolate biscuitti, chocolate noodles and pink guava ice cream, I wasn't so adventurous and had lime tart with coconut sorbet.
So our time in Lovina and at the Damai is almost up, one more breakfast which we plan to have in the room, one more early morning swim and then time to move on.  Tomorrow is a day to see some of Bali's natural beauty and a couple of temples. As we for our next hotel it is a move from a forest to rice paddy.
